About this incentive
The Delaware Low- to Moderate-Income (LMI) Solar Pilot Program provides grant funding to promote the use of renewable energy in low- and moderate-income households regardless of electric utility service territory. Low-income applicants can receive a cost-free solar system of up to 4 kW and cost-free weatherization services installed by a program-selected contractor. Moderate-income applicants can receive a reduced-cost solar system of up to 6 kW where the LMI solar program pays for 70% of the system installed by their choice of approved LMI solar contractor. There are two ways to qualify for receiving a cost-free or reduced-cost solar installation: Low-income applicants must qualify through the Weatherization Assistance Program. Households must be 200% or below of the federal poverty income level. Moderate-income applicants must qualify through an application that their chosen solar contractor submits to the Green Energy Program.
