Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program

*The program reopened on May 22, 2025. Vehicles must be purchased/leased during this on or after this date; a 30-day notice will be given before the program closes. Applicants have six months from the date of purchase/lease to apply for rebates. Once funds are depleted, eligible applicants will be put on a waitlist. Low- and moderate-income households can prequalify for the Charge Ahead rebate by completing this application . The Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program offers cash rebates for drivers in Oregon who purchase or lease electric vehicles. This program consists of three options, namely the standard rebate, charge ahead rebate, and the standard rebate + the charge ahead rebate. Rebate availability is dependent on program funding at the time of vehicle purchase or lease. To be eligible, vehicles must be purchased or leased from a certified vehicle dealer or an original equipment manufacturer, no person-to-person sales are allowed. Rebate recipients must register the vehicle in Oregon and retain registration for at least 24 months. Businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies are limited to 10 rebates per calendar year and must submit annual usage data to DEQ for three years. Standard rebate: The Standard rebate is offered to residents, businesses, non-profits, and government agencies with no income requirement. Eligible vehicles include new battery EVs and plug-in hybrid EV with a base MSRP under $50,000, as well as new zero-emission motorcycles. The rebate is $750 for a zero-emission motorcycle, $1,500 for a battery under 10 kWh, and $2,500 for a battery of 10 kWh or more. Charge Ahead rebate: The Charge Ahead rebate is offered to residents and nonprofits that are low- to moderate-income service providers. Applicant’s income must be below 400% of the federal poverty guideline and is based upon the applicant’s household size (applicants may check their eligibility here ). Eligible vehicles include new or used battery EVs and plug-in hybrid EV with an original base MSRP under $50,000. The rebate is $5,000 for used EVs and $7,500 for new EVs.
